Happy New Year all. I hope 2010 is good to you and yours.

For me the year promises to be busy, challenging and in many ways defining. In short, this is the year I aim to sort out what I’m doing for the rest of my life. By the end of this year I will know whether some of the creative projects I have been applying myself to with varying degrees of commitment are pathways to the future or simply dead end streets.

Chief among these and crucial to this site is my music. This year I will ascertain whether my attempt to reestablish myself in the musical arena is going to be self funding and rewarding or simply an expensive and futile hobby. If it’s the latter I may have no choice but to slide away gracefully.

While I will hate to disappoint those of you who are true and treasured fans of my work, reality may dictate that I pursue less costly outlets for my creative drive.

Nevertheless, that decision is a way off yet and I have more music to release and a whole bunch of new songs that — with luck and a good following breeze — may change this scenario.

So please keep dropping by here from time to time because, starting in early March, I’ll be getting quite active on the ‘demostation’ page of this site posting new songs for you to listen to and give the ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ to. If I get enough of the former I will record some of these. If not, I won’t.

However, I have a great many things I’m involved in outside of music that I will happily switch my creative energies to, so although I will be disappointed if this music thing falls over, I won’t be bereft.

On an unhappier note, I’m sorry to have to tell you that the small concert tour I had planned for NZ in Jan/Feb this year has been cancelled. I will try to get another small tour organised soon and I apologise to those of you who heard I was touring and will be disappointed I’m not. Suffice to say I had no choice in the matter.

I will keep you updated with developments in this and all other things as they evolve.

Please tell your friends about this site and my music and drop me a message for time to time. I like to hear from you and do my best to reply to everyone.

Take care,

John
